ASTECH SPECIALIST REHABILITATION SERVICES

Provides Occupational Therapy and Speech-Language Therapy services for people with physical disabilities and learning disabilities in the South Island of New Zealand.

Our Therapists provide hands-on therapy and appropriate assistive technology and techniques to help disabled people to become more effective communicators.

Senior therapists are experts in the use of assistive technology with many years of experience in this specialist area of practice.

A close interdisciplinary team approach is applied and includes families, carers and educational support personnel.

Service delivery can include 'hands on' intervention or consultative services.

     Lorraine Grundy

  • Director of Occupational Therapy Services.
  • Qualifications - NZROT, Advanced Certificate in
    Occupational Therapy Practice.
  • Occupational Therapist for 21 years.
  • 20 years experience in Paediatrics, specialising in    
    children with physical disabilities.
  • 20 years experience in use of assistive technology
    both assessment and training in the use of technology.
  
       3 Occupational Therapists
     who have several years of paediatric and
     Assistive Technology experience.

SPEECH LANGUAGE THERAPY SERVICES

     Lynda Strathdee

  • Director of Speech-Language Therapy Services
  • Qualifications - Dip Teaching / SLT
  • Speech Language Therapist for 14 years.
  • 12 years specialising in developing communication skills
    for children with multiple disabilities.
 

     3 Speech-Language Therapists
     with several years paediatric experience.
